Saffron Skies of Sikkim – 7 Days

Overview

Sikkim, nestled in the eastern Himalayas, is a land where serenity meets grandeur — a true Himalayan gem. The name is believed to mean “new house” in the Limbu language, yet its spirit feels ancient, timeless, and sacred. Dominated by the mighty Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest mountain, Sikkim offers jaw-dropping landscapes ranging from alpine meadows and glacier-fed lakes to subtropical forests and blooming rhododendron valleys.

The state is a melting pot of cultures and traditions, home to diverse ethnic communities like the Lepchas, Bhutias, and Nepalis, each contributing to its rich spiritual and cultural mosaic. Buddhism plays a vital role in Sikkim’s identity, with centuries-old monasteries such as Rumtek, Pemayangtse, and Tashiding echoing chants and prayers that blend seamlessly with the whispers of mountain winds.

Sikkim is also one of India’s cleanest and most environmentally conscious states, often lauded for its organic farming initiatives and sustainable tourism practices. From the surreal beauty of Tsomgo Lake to the quiet spiritual energy of Yuksom and the colorful festivals like Losar and Saga Dawa, every corner of Sikkim feels like a meditation in motion.
